Calgary rent-change amount and timing planner
Alberta has no cap, so this planner does two separate things and keeps them apart: the dates (365-day gate, full tenancy months of notice, next rent-due day) and the arithmetic of the amount you intend. A fixed term stops the planner cold, because no notice can take effect inside it.
Maximum rent
No cap
Alberta sets no limit on the amount. Enter an intended rent to see the arithmetic; the planner never judges the amount.
Earliest effective date
Feb 1, 2027
Binding rule: 3 full tenancy months of written notice
Notice: written, stating the date, the effective date and signed by the landlord Sourced · 3 full tenancy months: full tenancy periods, so a notice given mid-month starts counting from the next rent-due day · no prescribed form (CPLEA template — verify).

Assumptions this result depends on
- Rent is due on the 1st; tenancy months run from the 1st; the increase takes effect on a rent-due day.
- alberta.ca › During a tenancy (fetched 29 Sep 2026); RTA s.14 — verify sections.
- Notice is served so that it is received before the notice period starts; service rules are in the delivery explorer (CAL-C44) and are fixtures.
- Not social housing or a mobile-home site.
